What goes wrong when plumbing is not coordinated with the build
The plumbing and heating on a building project rarely fails because the pipework itself is poor. It fails because it was installed out of step with everything else — first fix pipework run before the final bathroom or kitchen layout was agreed, a boiler position chosen without checking flue routes against the new roof line, or a plumber brought in without reference to when the electrician needs access to the same stud wall.
Gas work carries a further risk if it is not treated correctly. Any gas installation, alteration or connection in a domestic property must be carried out and certified by a Gas Safe registered engineer. A general builder connecting a boiler or extending a gas run without that qualification is not just a bad idea, it is against the law and a genuine safety risk.
